Papercraft - RX-78 Gundam by Chartodileon Papercraft - RX-78 Gundam by Chartodileon
Finally finished this beast! :faint: I started building it at the beginning of this year, working on it a little bit everyday. This craft was simple, but it took such a long time because I had to do a lot of improvisation. A friend of mine suggested that I reinforce the pieces somehow - especially the legs, because of its size and weight. There were also quite a bit of design flaws(missing tabs, unused pieces, etc) which I had to work around. To reinforce the inside, I cut up some diorama foam(?) that I got from Wal-Mart. I also covered some with blue card stock to make the base.

Yes, there was a beam rifle in the WIP pic but I'm planning on submitting this for my school's art show, so I left it out for now. Theres also a shield, but it kept turning out bad so I no shield I guess..

Sorry for the horrible quality.. >_> Will edit it when I have the time.

P.S. Don't bother asking for the templates because I won't reply. I got this from someone who doesn't want me to share it.

Uhh.. Innerbrain? I don't know. But I'm pretty sure that this came from the same designer that made the giant Char's Zaku.

I was looking at the joints around the elbows and I was thinking if this can be posed? Or maybe not... then again, that is a huge model. Did you use colored paper for some parts or did it require you to print them out in color?

Everything but the head, backpack, and hands are colored card stock.

There is a little bit of posability where the shoulders, elbows(its left arm is bent forward as far as it will go) hand, wrists, knees and feet are but I had to glue all of them in the end. The only place with real posability is the head lol

Cool, I've always wanted to try out building Gundam models, only reason I'm holding back is the lack of colored paper that would match the color required for the model. National Bookstore has a poor selection of such things.

Thank you! I can't belive it either! XD

I think it's.. somewhere between 2-3 feet tall. It's huge compared to the other 1/100 Gundams lol
